An 18-year-old male driver was arrested Friday night for causing a four-car crash in Salt Lake City due to driving under the influence. The crash occurred at 400 South and State Street, resulting in minor injuries to a 22-year-old female driver. The driver, identified as Cedar Rojas, was speeding when he struck a vehicle stopped at a red light.
An 18-year-old was arrested Friday night after causing a four- car crash at a Salt Lake City intersection while driving under the influence. Salt Lake City police said an officer headed to the city’s Public Safety Building came across the crash at 400 South and State Street shortly after 8:45 p.m. on January 24. Investigators said Cedar Rojas, the teenage driver, was speeding northbound on State Street when he struck a vehicle stopped at a red light.
The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, leaving the 22-year-old female driver with minor injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Two other vehicles at the intersection were damaged in the crash, but no injuries were reported to any of the occupants. Officers from the SLCPD’s Motor Squad and Crash Investigation team responded and determined Rojas was impaired. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of driving under the influence and negligent operation of a vehicle resulting in bodily injury
