Say I had Ks [kilometer repeats] as my workout. In Memphis, I would have five or six with three minutes’ rest; now I have six to 10 of them but with one minute rest. I’m running more than I ever have, doing doubles for the first time. My long runs went from 10 miles to 16 or more. A couple Saturdays ago, I did my longest and best tempo at 7,000 feet, 10 miles at just over 5:50 pace. I felt very controlled and in tune with my body.I did have to get used to running in a pack again.
