A 16-year-old Guatemalan boy is the fifth migrant child since December to die after being apprehended by border agents.
A bend in the Rio Grande in Mission, Texas. The U.S. says a 16-year-old Guatemalan died Monday at a Border Patrol station in south Texas.
"We should all be outraged and demand that those responsible for his well-being be held accountable," said Efrén Olivares, a lawyer with the Texas Civil Rights Project. Federal law and CBP's guidelines generally require that unaccompanied youth be transferred within 72 hours to a facility operated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
