The Mandaluyong City local government on Monday, Dec. 13, said that 16 barangays have recorded zero active COVID-19 cases and only one barangay has one new case on Sunday, Dec. 12.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos shared the good news during the flag-raising ceremony held at the City Hall grounds. She said the achievement shows that the campaign of the local government unit against the virus, with the cooperation of the general public, is effective.
Abalos said the COVID-19 cases in the city have declined drastically as a result of the LGU’s efforts in vaccinating the public in partnership with the private sector, and the compliance of residents and non-residents working in the city with the minimum health and safety protocols set by the Department of Health .
Earlier, Abalos gave due recognition to groups and government agencies that supported the city’s COVID-19 vaccine deployment efforts.
