Every March 17th, residents of more than 200 countries celebrate St. Patrick, the saint who is believed to have introduced Christianity to Ireland. In the U.S., we often do this by employing the timeless tactics of wearing tacky clothes and drinking a lot, and that probably explains why it’s one of the most beloved and widely celebrated national holidays ever.
