Timbalan Pengarah Sektor Pengurusan Sekolah, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri, Abidin Marjan berkata, sebanyak 49 sekolah terjejas di tujuh daerah yang terjejas banjir.
Tujuh daerah yang terjejas adalah Pitas, Beluran, Kudat, Sipitang, Beaufort, Kota Marudu dan Lahad Datu.
Beliau berkata, sebahagian kawasan dan laluan ke sekolah dinaiki air manakala, ada sekolah yang dinaiki air dan sebahagian sekolah lagi dijadikan pusat pemindahan sementara bagi menempatkan mangsa banjir. Empat sekolah di Kota Marudu yang dijadikan PPS iaitu Sekolah Kebangsaan Ranau, SK Taritipan, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tandek dan SMK Bengkongan.
Sekolah yang dinaiki air akibat banjir pula adalah Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Sin Boon, Sipitang.-UTUSAN
