“Then they will start building out the tenant spaces, so it won’t be open yet,” Wilcox said of the development off Memorial Parkway. The developer is Parkway Vesta, LLC, which includes Crunkleton Real Estate. The development is taking space formerly occupied by Hollywood 18 movie theater and Century Plaza office space. “Crunkleton is working really hard on the leasing,” Wilcox said. “They’ve had a ton of great interest. It’s really a lot of retail clients who aren’t already in north Alabama. It’s not people who are already here moving into the space. It’s new people. It’s exciting for Huntsville.”Brasfield & Gorrie is also working on the development’s parking deck, which is being constructed next to the stadium. The deck will include 408 parking spaces, 300 of which will be leased by the city for $10.5 million for events at John Hunt Park and the stadium.Other projects Stadium Commons is not the only project Brasfield & Gorrie is involved with in the Huntsville area. The firm has been issued 10 building permits totaling nearly $52 million for projects in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties, according to Southern Exposure Information. “We’ve got an office and warehouse building for special aerospace services in Research Park.” Wilcox said. “That’s going to finish this summer. They are a defense contractor coming here from Colorado Springs. It’s mostly warehouse space with offices on the front.” Brasfield & Gorrie is also the builder of a $25 million office building at Redstone Gateway near Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9 for COPT. “That will be a five-story stacked office building that has a similar look to the buildings already there,” Wilcox said. “They’re having a lot of good tenant interest on that.”“They’re seeing amazing interest from students who want to go to that school,” she said. “I expect them to continue to build .”Brasfield & Gorrie was also the builder for two of the highest-profiled structures in Huntsville which were completed last year: the 352-unit Stella at Five Points mixed-use development on Pratt Avenue and the new $80 million Federal Courthouse at the corner of Lowe Avenue and Gallatin Street.
