Thursday, July 31, 2025 10:28PMUPPER EAST SIDE --Her funeral services were held at Central Synagogue on the Upper East Side. The Yale graduate was a senior managing director at Blackstone and was fatally shot in the 345 Park Avenue building's lobby after a gunman opened fire inside the building, killing four people.
Her 14-year-old daughter was among those to speak at the emotional funeral and gave a powerful eulogy. "Hi, my mom was like my rock, and every time after school, someone said something mean or if something happened, I would talk to her, and I couldn't talk to anyone else," her daughter said. The simple act of just talking about Wesley provided some sense of comfort on Thursday during the funeral service for the 43-year-old Blackstone executive slain by an indiscriminate gunman. "It's just unimaginable that this actually happened. I keep thinking it's like a prank or a lucid dream and she'll jump out and say ha ha, it was all a joke," she said.The teen's words are absolutely crushing.Mourners remember the woman behind the big corporate job. "Our freshman outdoor orientation trip out of her bag she pulledo out a hairdryer and I was like what are you going to do with that in the woods?" a Yale classmate said."She lived for her children.She was also the most amazing daughter," Father Lawrence Mittman said.LePatner's Rabbi said her name in Hebrew means 'Splendor."Heartbreaking words from the daughter whose mother was killed in the Midtown mass shooting on Monday.
