14-year-old boy killed after he was hit by car while riding his bike in Countryside
A 14-year-old boy died after he was hit by a car while riding his bike in Countryside on Sunday evening, according to police.
Julian Medina, of Countryside, died from multiple external injuries after the biking accident, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.The accident happened at 55th Street and South La Grange Road around 6:40 p.m. Sunday, said Countryside police Chief Joseph Ford Jr. in an email. The driver of the car stayed on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation, Ford said.
“It is a tragic accident and our prayers go out to everyone involved, especially the Medina family,” Ford said.Medina has three siblings, Evelyn, Samantha and Isabella, according to his“He brought joy and a smile to your face,” according to the obituary. “He loved playing soccer and video games with his cousins. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle manner.”
