THE casualty count from the latest explosions to rock Jolo, Sulu increased as troops assessed the damage and officials condemned the attack.Those killed were seven Armed Forces of the Philippines personnel, one PNP Special Action Force personnel and six civilians.Malacañang has condemned the attacks.
Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo described the attack as “more horrific in the context of the pandemic”. Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Western Mindanao Command chief, said the first improvised explosive device exploded around 11:50 a.m. in front of the Paradise Food Shop in Barangay Walled City. It was attached to a motorcycle parked in the area.
