A young member of the Birmingham Police Department officially joined the force Friday afternoon.
Officers with the Birmingham Police Department , along with 33 other law enforcement agencies, welcomed 12-year-old Devarjay ‘DJ’ Daniel as an honorary deputy chief Friday afternoon at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Alabama State University police also welcomed DJ as an honorary police officer with the University’s Department of Public Safety. “It was truly an honor and privilege to take part in DJ’s swearing in ceremony,” said Director Kendrick. “The strength and courage that he exudes is a testament of what it means to protect and serve, and I am proud to have him sworn in as an Alabama State University police officer.”
