Somewhere between the hotspot du jour and the uninspired hole-in-the-wall is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like a true New Yorker—where tourists are nowhere to be seen, where the servers know your name, and where the food may not be buzzworthy but is always reliably delicious.
If you’re out and about in West Chelsea doing the art galleries or the Highline, odds are you’re going to end up at the Red Cat. It’s always bustling,, from the bar burger to the seasonal pressed chicken entrée, and it’s not like you’ve gotta call two weeks in advance. It alwaysand never over-aims. The seasonal margaritas are always a good option. It’s been a great neighborhood option ever since it opened 15 years ago.
