ILOILO CITY – Police have arrested 12 civilians in Western Visayas for violating the gun ban in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections next month.
The Police Regional Office -6 said these individuals were apprehended in checkpoint operations spearheaded by the Commission on Elections since August 28.
Arresting units were the Bacolod City Police Office , Capiz Police Provincial Office, Iloilo City Police Office , Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion -6. Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that other weapons such as blades and knives and toy guns are also prohibited during the gun ban.
