PETALING JAYA: An 11-year-old boy at Kampung Perupok in Bachok, Kelantan has died from heat stroke.
The victim, Muhamad Syamil Aqil was said to have died at 9.27am on Tuesday while receiving treatment at a clinic, according to Sinar Harian.
Quoting his mother, known as Wanie, an autopsy carried out on the boy confirmed that the cause of death was due to heat stroke. "The doctor said his kidneys and heart were 'burnt'. It was empty inside, the water and blood in his body had 'dried' up," she said on Thursday at her house in Bachok."On the third day of Raya, he had a mild fever and diarrhoea."After dawn on the fourth day of Raya, he became weaker. I told my husband to take him to the clinic and suddenly he had cramps," she said.
Muhammad Syamil then passed away at the clinic and his body was taken to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II hospital for an autopsy. Bachok district police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
