"The term tablescape in its literal form means 'an arrangement of tableware and other beautiful objects on a table'" explains Louisa Preskett Mobbs, Creative Director at ."It’s really become an artform for many people, with the places we eat becoming somewhere to express the things we love."There’s been a huge surge in immaculate tablescaping images all over our social media feeds in recent years. And, experts believe our desire to make our home dining set-ups a bit more special could be due to the pandemic."During lockdown, our houses became our restaurants", Louisa says.
Tablescaping not only allows us to make mealtimes more special - Whinnie Williams and Kierra Campbell, founders at, explain that it’s also become a creative outlet for us."It spans so many disciplines from floristry and foliage, to place settings. You can bring so many materials and textures together to create something really unique. Plus, there are absolutely no rules," they said.
Louisa agrees, explaining that the thought that goes into a tablescape is often the thing guests enjoy the most,"whether that’s because someone has hand written their name on a placement, or simply created a place where they feel they are welcomed. Personally, I love that the table becomes a talking point, too.
