Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque says over 11,000 OFWs, who were stranded for weeks in quarantine facilities, were sent home after President Duterte issued an ultimatum.

MAYNILA — Higit 11,000 stranded OFWs na ang napauwi sa mga probinsya nila hanggang ngayong Martes, ayon sa Malacañang, matapos ang ipinataw na ultimatum ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong Lunes.

"Nasa desisyon na po iyan ng LGUS, pero fully tested po negative po sila sa PCR testing so baka masayang ang quarantine, pero we respect your prerogatives," ani Roque. Gayunman, mas mabilis na ngayon ang pagproseso kumpara noong Lunes pero mahaba pa rin ang pila at halos hindi nasusunod ang physical distancing.Naiayos na raw ng Philippine Coast Guard, OWWA, at DOTr ang koordinasyon sa mga sinusundong OFW mula sa mga higit 200 quarantine facilities sa Metro Manila.Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv Samantala, ilang OFWs na napauwi ang doble ang kalbaryo dahil matapos ang ilang buwang quarantine ay muli silang isasailalim sa quarantine sa kanilang bayan.

Paliwanag naman ng Philippine Coast Guard, galing sa iba-ibang lugar ang mga sumailalim sa swab test. Sa inisyal na impormasyong natanggap nila, galing sa Clark, Pampanga ang ilan sa 490 Chinese national na nakasama sa listahan.
