The mayor of Reynoldsburg says he wants to bring more housing units to the city that target the working class like teachers, firefighters and those in customer

service.

Mayor Begeny said the city bought the lot across the street from City Hall back in 2021 for $2 million. City leaders demolished a PNC Bank on the site. He's now proposing to sell to CMHA for $1,500,000 to break ground on the $30 million project. Last week, more than 50 tenants of the Reynoldsburg Mobile Home Park down the street gathered in a protest outside of their leasing office due to higher rents. Many are seniors on fixed incomes and were given notice that their lost rents would jump by 40%. The new fees would take more than 50% of the income Mary Kay Keller, 99, receives from Social Security per month.
