The Guardians of the Galaxy have made some questionable decisions in the MCU over the years, some of which having lasting negative consequences.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Guardians Of The Galaxy are in a peculiar position as a superhero team in the MCU, being more a group of anti-heroes at times, and making some decisions that are outright destructive. The ragtag squadron of intergalactic misfits do a lot of good, saving entire planetary populations from destruction at the hands of villains like Ronan The Accuser and The High Evolutionary.
Gamora is the only one who knows of the Soul Stone's location - critical information to Thanos' plan to collect all the stones. For her to risk capture for the sake of heroically confronting the Mad Titan was a severe and puzzling mistake that played right into Thanos hands. If Gamora hung back and tried to avoid Thanos at all costs, he may have never found the mysterious Soul Stone.
7 Nebula Isn't More Specific About The Soul Stone Avengers: Endgame sees Nebula finding herself on Earth, helping the remnants of the Avengers with their time heist to retrieve the Infinity Stones. When the team locks in their final destinations, Nebula reveals the planet of Vormir as the place where Thanos was finally able to retrieve the elusive Soul Stone. She also alludes to Gamora's death on the planet, cryptically saying "He took her to Vormir.
Gamora is also on the hunt for the Orb at the start of the film, tasked by Thanos to retrieve the Infinity Stone. However, Gamora double-crosses Thanos, seeking to also sell the Orb as well while defecting from the Mad Titan. She chooses The Collector as her buyer, despite knowing full-well the true nature of the Orb as the Power Stone, not to mention The Collector's own loose morals.
4 Rocket Makes Peter Steal A Leg For No Reason Though not as concerning as some of the Guardians' more reckless actions, Rocket's poorly-timed moment of levity during the prison break in the first Guardians of the Galaxy still stands out as a terrible thing the Guardians have done. When explaining to the rest of the team the items he needs to successfully pull off the escape, he points out the robotic leg of a random prisoner.
When Gamora betrays Thanos, Nebula gets her chance to lash out, chasing her sister down. It wasn't until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that their conflict comes to a head, Nebula painfully admitting that she just wanted as sister as Gamora's success subjected her to yet more body horror at Thanos' hands.
