Rey's Star Wars story is not over.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sets up Rey’s new Star Wars movie in several ways, both directly and indirectly. Originally marketed as the end of the Skywalker saga, The Rise of Skywalker is no longer the final chapter in the story that chronologically began with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Rey’s new Star Wars movie is not Episode X, but it is a continuation of the Star Wars sequels nonetheless.
9 Finn Will Become A Jedi The Force Awakens’ marketing suggested that Finn would be the sequel trilogy’s Force-sensitive character, which turned out to be a red herring for the fact Rey was the saga’s new Jedi. However, The Rise of Skywalker revisited the idea that Finn could be Force-sensitive. The film strongly hinted at Finn having powers, yet this is never confirmed on screen. Still, there were enough hints in The Rise of Skywalker to set up Finn becoming a Jedi in Star Wars’ new movie.
6 Rey Has Been Studying The Ancient Jedi Texts The Last Jedi introduced the sacred Jedi texts Luke Skywalker had been studying since the events of Return of Jedi. While Yoda showed Luke that those books were not the most important thing a Jedi could learn from, Rey took some with her before leaving Ahch-To. Rey still has the ancient Jedi texts by the end of the sequel trilogy, which may come into play in Star Wars’ New Jedi Order movie.
