Neve Campbell, who played consummate final girl Sidney Prescott in the first five movies of the slasher franchise, has announced that she will be returning to reprise her role in the new movie.
9 Maureen Prescott Last seen in Scream 3 While Sidney's mother Maureen has been dead since before the events of the original movie, she has nevertheless been a majorly important figure in the franchise. The choices she made in her life provided the motives for two of the Ghostface killers, and she appeared as a ghostly hallucination to torment a haunted Sidney in 2000's Scream 3.
6 Joel Last seen in Scream 2 Close One of the smartest characters in the Scream franchise, Gale Weathers' temporary cameraman Joel quit his job and left campus before Ghostface could kill him. While he was briefly seen at the end of the movie, nothing more has been heard from him throughout the rest of the franchise. Should he reappear, he may be able toimpart some wisdom about how to survive a horror movie that even Sidney hasn't yet learned.
