From the first Extraction film to fellow mercenary thrillers like Ronin and John Wick, there are plenty of great action thriller movies like Extraction 2 to watch before the Chris Hemsworth-starring sequel arrives on Netflix. Set to be released on June 16, Extraction 2 sees black ops mercenary Tyler Rake take on another daring rescue mission, this time springing the family of a notorious Georgian gangster out of prison.

The first movie introduced Tyler Rake as a black ops mercenary hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian crime boss in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The operation didn’t exactly go smoothly as Rake was double-crossed in the middle of the mission.
8 Spiderhead The Extraction movies aren’t the only Netflix original and bingeworthy thrillers that Hemsworth has starred in. He also appeared alongside Miles Teller in the sci-fi prison drama Spiderhead . Written by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick , the movie concerns a futuristic prison in which the inmates participate in experiments that involve mind-melding drugs.
6 The Gray Man Based on Mark Greaney’s debut novel of the same name, The Gray Man is a cat-and-mouse thriller starring Ryan Gosling as a CIA agent on the run and Chris Evans as the sadistic mercenary on his tail. Like Extraction 2, The Gray Man is a gritty spy thriller from the Russo brothers, backed with a blockbuster budget from Netflix to bring each action set-piece to life in style.
