Police now believe speed was a contributing factor. The force of the crash ejected the baby, the baby’s mother and another adult from the car. Police say no one in the truck was restrained.

Police in the Fort Worth suburb of Everman say speed played a role in a rollover wreck that injured four people. The crash happened Monday afternoon on Everman Parkway between Christopher Drive and Race Street.Police say nobody inside the pickup truck was wearing any kind of restraint, including a 10-month-old. That baby and two others were thrown from the truck. The 10-month-old is still in the ICU but is improving.

"Putting a seatbelt on, proper car seats and things like that are probably the easiest thing you can do to prevent something tragic like this from ever happening," said Everman Police Officer Cliff Thrasher.Everman police say weather was not a factor as the crash happened before Monday’s rain showers. However, police do believe speed was a contributing factor in the cause of the crash. As the investigation continues, criminal charges could be filed.
