Due to various deaths and exits, several important character pairs from Marvel Comics have already been ruled out for the MCU's future.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Sadly, several major character pairs from Marvel Comics will never happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks to the number of films in the MCU, a number of iconic relationships have made their way from the page to the big screen. Most notably, Marvel used multiple films to adapt the complex dynamic shared by Steve Rogers and Tony Stark in the comic books, adding new layers to it along the way.
9 Captain America & Isaiah Bradley As a super soldier from a different era, Carl Lumbly’s Isiah Bradley surely would have had some memorable interactions with Steve Rogers had they ever crossed paths. In the comics, Steve eventually did learn of Isaiah’s existence and expressed great respect for him.
6 Magneto & Red Skull Red Skull isn’t technically dead, but his relocation to Vormir and reinvention in Avengers: Infinity War means that the Johann Schmidt viewers were familiar with is no more. That effectively erases any potential the MCU had for a Magneto-Red Skull conflict. Magneto’s background as a person who was persecuted by the Nazis gave him an understandable hatred of the Red Skull, which played into his reasons for refusing a team-up in the 1980s.
