While Star Trek: The Next Generation remains one of the best sci-fi TV shows of all time, some elements don't hold up as well as others.

Most of Star Trek: The Next Generation holds up today, but some of the earlier episodes contain elements that can only be described as cringe-worthy. Following the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise-D, TNG had a lot to live up to when it premiered in 1987. It took fans a couple of years before they truly fell in love with this entirely new cast of characters.

9 Geordi La Forge Had A Creepy Obsession With Dr. Leah Brahms There is a lot to like about Enterprise Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge , but Geordi often struggled with romantic relationships. In the TNG season 3 episode, "Booby Trap," Geordi creates a holodeck program with a recreation of scientist Dr. Leah Brahms . Though her initial appearance is an accident, Geordi then uploads Dr. Brahms' actual personality to the holodeck and proceeds to fall in love with her.

6 Barclay Had An Inappropriate Holodeck Fantasy Lieutenant Reginald Barclay has always been a bit of a divisive character and his introductory TNG episode, "Hollow Pursuits," did him little favors. While Barclay's insecurity and social awkwardness is relatable to many, the ways he chooses to deal with it are often questionable.
