DC has released some truly dark movies, but a few of them rank above the others due to their overall tone, major deaths, and more. All of the DCEU's movies were piled together as being extremely dark, which is not true. DC has had somber releases in recent years, but many of the shared universe's projects were more light-hearted in nature, with films like the Shazam! franchise, Blue Beetle, and the Aquaman movies falling into that designation.
