Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One of the things that has the easiest way of drawing people into an anime is its opening theme. Being the first impression fans get before an episode starts, an opening theme often works to get a potential audience excited about the series, and depending on the music and visuals, a good opening can be all a person needs to start watching something they otherwise had no interest in.

The two focal points of Whisper Me a Love Song are music and romance, and both are on full display in its opening theme. Thanks to its stellar artwork, animation, and choice of song, Whisper Me a Love Song’s opening theme, “Follow your arrows” by SSGIRLS perfectly captures the romantic drama and stellar rock songs of the anime; the musical element is especially emphasized by SSGIRLS being the in-universe band Yori plays in.

Train to the End of the World is a delightfully bizarre series, but its opening theme works by being anything but. “GA-TAN GO-TON” by Rei Nakashima largely ignores the surrealist nature of the anime to highlight the sweet nature of the girls’ friendship, and while that doesn’t accurately cover the overarching story of the show, the contrast does work to highlight the emotional core of Train to the End of the World, so it still works.

Mission: Yozakura Family has long since made a name for itself with its comedic stylings, and its opening theme does an excellent job of playing into that. Between its fluid animation and poppy music and lyrics, Ikimonogakari’s “Unmei-chan” does a great job of capturing the lighthearted nature of Mission: Yozakura Family’s story, all while still highlighting some of the more serious elements that occasionally pop up.
