While Gilmore Girls is known as a mother-daughter drama and a show full of interesting romantic relationships, the best episodes of Gilmore Girls feature even more than that. Gilmore Girls stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as the titular characters, a very close mother and daughter who are more like best friends than they are parent and child many times. They live in the small fictional town of Stars Hollow and the series sees both of them come of age in different ways.

The pilot episode also introduces the conflict of Lorelai and her parents not getting along and of Rory meeting Dean for the first time, opening the door for her first romantic relationship. All of these characters and their relationships with one another provide the foundation for the show and the episode is just as good 150 episodes in as it is when it is the first one the audience has seen.

Part of the appeal of the show is seeing what new quirky goings-on the town will have from week to week. The Festival of Living Art, however, is not something Stars Hollow does on a regular basis.

While the show allows Lorelai to “freak out” on a regular basis when it comes to her parents or Rory, always making those situations moments she can learn and grow from, she does not have those kinds of moments often when it comes to work. While Lorelai can often be seen as one of the least mature characters in the show, she is also one of the show’s best managers. There is no work crisis she cannot handle - even the inn she manages burning down.

&#x2715 Remove Ads Because of this combination, the audience gets a great look into some of the relationship dynamics in the show, like Richard and Emily not being on the same page when he does not tell her he already retired and Rory and Jess growing closer despite everyone around them wanting them to stay away from one another.

Despite that decision marring Rory’s character in the eyes of many audience members, it’s a huge moment for the story and provides a lot of drama for the show going forward. Also providing a new story arc for the show is Luke and Lorelai finally kissing for the first time after four seasons of build-up. Their coming together counteracts the bittersweet taste of Rory and Dean getting together, and this is a great way to intrigue the audience and see how the show’s dynamics shift.

4 I Can’t Get Started Season 2, Episode 22 The season 2 finale is a big one for the relationships in the series, but also one that allows a lot of Stars Hollow residents to appear. That’s because the big event of the episode is Lorelai’s best friend Sookie getting married to Jackson. Their wedding is what every character is getting ready for, and it’s where quite a few big events for the show occur.

1 3 Friday Night’s Alright For Fighting Season 6, Episode 13 &#x2715 Remove Ads ...one of the best endings in the entire run of the show. 2 Those Are Strings, Pinocchio Season 3, Episode 22 “Those Are Strings, Pinocchio” is a turning point for the series. It’s the season three finale and the culmination of everything the two main characters have worked for up to that point. Previous doors are closed and new ones, toward achieving their dreams, are opened.
