10 actors who could play Swamp Thing and why.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One of the films in DC Universe's upcoming pipeline features the leafy hero Swamp Thing and it's important that the project finds the right actor for the role. Though the movie has gotten a confirmed writer and director in James Mangold, which actor will portray the leafy green giant is still a mystery.
9 Vincent D'Onofrio Best known in the comic book movie world for his portrayal of Kingpin in both Netflix's Daredevil series and Hawkeye on Disney+, Vincent D'Onofrio is no stranger to acting in big franchises. But his recent reaction to an article fan-casting him for the role has been raising eyebrows in the DCU fan base.
With only a few simple lines, Vin Diesel's voice brought Groot to life and endeared him to an audience of millions. Perhaps he could do the same lending his voice to Swamp Thing, especially with the advantage of a larger vocabulary. Not only that, Vin Diesel's build would make him an excellent motion capture base for VFX artists to build Swamp Thing off of, should he choose to lend more than his voice.
6 Terry Notary If the voice and physical components of a Swamp Thing performance were to be separated, it's hard to think of a better choice than Terry Notary. A veteran motion-capture artist, Terry Notary has served artists in a wide variety of motion-capture roles. His credits include motion capture performer and coordinator in films like Kong: Skull Island, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit series.
In addition to his passions, Norman Reedus is well-accustomed to motion capture work, thanks to his performance in 2019's Death Stranding, a video game made by Kojima Productions. This experience could translate excellently to the set of James Mangold's Swamp Thing.
