1 seriously hurt when car crashes on I-15 in Mira Mesa [Breaking]
One person suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon when a car crashed into a barrier along Interstate 15, authorities said.
The crash happened about 3:50 p.m. when a blue Ford sedan headed south reportedly hydroplaned near Carroll Canyon Road and struck a type of barrier along the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The wrecked car ended up in one of two carpool lanes. One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to the CHP and San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The crash forced the closure of a carpool lane until about 5:15 p.m. and caused southbound traffic to back up. No further information was immediately available.
