According to police, the shooting happened overnight at the intersection of Alabama Highway 59 and Beach Highway. Gulf Shores police said one male juvenile was injured by a gunshot to the leg and is in stable condition after being transported to the hospital.
The suspect was apprehended at the Gulf Shores Walmart a few miles north on Highway 59, according to police.Police were on the scene late into the night questioning witnesses. Since it is spring break, they said there were a lot of people in the area when the shooting happened. They have also been going through cell phone video and even looking at surveillance video to get information.
We’re told at least three shell casings were recovered, but some witnesses reported more shots. A city spokesperson says police are still trying to sort it all out.
