A man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to the November 2022 kidnapping and murder of Nakel Johnson, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Azzie Oliver.
. The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force reportedly found him hiding in a kitchen cabinet in an abandoned home in Montgomery and took him into custody.
Jeffery Pruitt has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the November 2022 kidnapping and murder of Nakel Johnson, according to District Attorney Azzie Oliver. The DA’s office said the investigation revealed 47-year-old Johnson was held hostage in a hotel room where he was interrogated and repeatedly beaten with multiple objects by Pruitt and his co-conspirators. Johnson died from the injuries he sustained in the assault, and his body was put in the trunk of his car.
Pruitt, along with the other two men charged in the case, drove the vehicle to a remote area and set it on fire.
