One female victim was killed and another was critically injured on Wednesday in a shooting in Middlesex County, officials said.
The victims were shot on Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release. Authorities did not say what time of day the incident happened. Police found both females on the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims later died at the hospital and the other is in critical condition, prosecutors said. Authorities did not confirm the ages of the victims.Authorities said shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday that a suspect had been apprehended. The person’s identity was not announced.
