A person was killed in a house fire early Tuesday, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.

Updated at 3 p.m. with additional information from the Fort Worth Fire Department.Fort Worth firefighters responded about 4:15 a.m.

to a call about two people trapped inside a burning home in the 300 block of Wayne Street, near Beach and East First streets,“Knowing that there were people inside, the firefighters immediately kicked in the back door of the house and made entry to rescue them,” the department said in a news release.The blaze was “under control in under 30 minutes,” said Craig Trojacek, a spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department. No firefighters were injured.
