One person was killed and seven others were injured in a shooting Monday evening in Oakland, California.
Officers were dispatched to the area following an activation of ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection technology.Shortly afterward, the Oakland Police Department received notice that several gunshot victims had gone to hospitals in the area by themselves.
It’s not clear what precipitated the gunfire.
