The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Mile 75 of the highway, which is near Capitol Speedway. Ken Barkley, emergency services director of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, confirmed preliminary details of the incident. Additional information was not immediately available. As of early afternoon, one lane of the highway was open in the area and Alaska State Troopers were alternating traffic from both directions to get drivers through, troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel said.
