David Nose, 26, Wasilla, wasn't wearing a helmet when Alaska State Troopers said he crashed a snowmachine into the back of a heavy duty pickup truckANCHORAGE, Alaska - High speed is a suspected factor in a fatal snowmachine collision Sunday night in Big Lake.

David Nose, 26, Wasilla, was riding his 2003 Polaris RMK 700 west on the Big Lake ice road near Burkeshore Marina when he collided with a parked flatbed Ram 3500, Alaska State Troopers said. Nose was declared dead after EMS attempted life-saving measures, Troopers said. Nose was not wearing a helmet. No one else was hurt. Nose’s body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.Most Read
