Drought Monitor98.94% of N.M. is in moderate to exceptional drought, while 96.4% of Neb. is in moderate to exceptional drought.or grew on Friday — driven by the drought, powerful winds gusting over 60 mph, high temperatures and extremely, with N.M. and Colorado both experiencing dust storms as well as wildfires as a result.
Santa Fe National Forest spokesperson Julie Anne Overton noted to the NYT that while conditions were improving in the short-term, more warm, dry weather was expected later this week.
