One man died in a four-vehicle crash early Thursday in the Galleria area, Houston Police Department officials said.
Two tow trucks were attempting to get a driver and her Lexus out of the road on the 2300 block of West Loop South, when a Jeep ran into a tow truck, killing the Jeep driver, Houston police spokesperson John Cannon said. Officers had arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. and found the Lexus stopped in a moving lane of traffic. Both tow trucks had emergency lights on as they attended to the Lexus.Upon impact with the Jeep, one of the tow trucks hit the other tow truck in front of it.
The woman driving the Lexus was possibly intoxicated and has been detained, Cannon said. She may be charged with driving while under the influence pending consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.
