Authorities say a suspect was shot and killed by police after firing what turned out to be an Airsoft pistol at officers.
Authorities say that plainclothes officers were in the area of Seneca Avenue & Hunts Point Avenue in the Hunts Point section just before 8 p.m. when they came across two men having a dispute. At that point, authorities say officers responded and confronted the man, verbally ordering him to drop the weapon.
Authorities say the man then raised the gun and fired a single time at a detective, narrowly missing him. The suspect was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say the suspect was not armed with an actual gun, but instead, with an Airsoft pistol, which was recovered at the scene.Advertisementthat I have read and agree
