It happened near the intersection of State Highway 79 and County Road 110, just outside of Hutto city limits, according to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.“For an unknown reason, the 4Runner was either crossing the railroad track or either stopped on the railroad track," said Sgt. Billy Ray with the Texas Department of Public Safety.Ray confirmed that the one person killed was the driver of the passenger vehicle. "We have Amtrak, we have Union Pacific, we have investigators and officials on scene to help us with any information that we need from the train," said Ray.Ethan Boecker, who works at a nearby gym, says he's never seen anything like it before in his life. He took in the scene after being asked by a coworker to go check it out together. "I was kinda nervous at first to go down there, but then she asked if we wanted to go check on it to see if we can help," he said. "That kinda gave me the will to go down there and hope that everything was okay."Amtrak said that the train, Amtrak Train 22, was traveling from San Antonio to Chicago at about 10 a.m. when it came into contact with the vehicle. The railroad company says that there have been no reports of injuries to the approximately 71 passengers and crew onboard the train.
