) - A 40-year-old Mobile man is behind bars in connection with a shooting on Dauphin Island Parkway near Maryvale Street that left another man injured this morning, according to the Mobile Police Department.
The shooting took place near the Maryvale Elementary School. Officers responded to the scene in the 1200 block of DIP around 10:30 a.m. and found a man with what they say is a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators say the victim and Demetrius Davis had been involved in an argument that turned physical when the subject pulled a gun on the victim. The victim shot back, striking the suspect’s vehicle, according to authorities. The suspect then drove away from the area, police said.Davis was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail this afternoon and is charged with first-degree assault. Jail records show he has a bond hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
