At the time of writing, no filming date or release date has been announced, though in an interview with Deadline in January 2026, Jordan confirmed the adaptation is “coming" and at the annualYarros has also confessed she has already read some versions of the pilot script, a positive indication that the pre-production ball is rolling. It's too bad Michael B. Jordan himself is about a decade too old to play Xaden himself , but with schedules likely still in the pre-production stage, no casting confirmations have been announced. Yarros did, however, make one promise to fans: Xaden will be played by a person of color.
