The article discusses an expected England squad for the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico, including goalkeeper options and potential selections for the team.
Follow Daily Mail Sport's live blog as Thomas Tuchel names his 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico. 07:42Plenty of shocks By Harry BamforthWhere do I even start?
No Harry Maguire. No Phil Foden. NO COLE PALMER. Now there are plenty of big omissions from that England squad, but not bringing Palmer is the major one that caught my eye.
There are so, so, so many more, and don't worry, we will be combing through all of them throughout the day. Plenty of reaction to go through, almost too much. It's going to be a hell of a day, and I'm predicting I may need an early night after running this blog.
Hopefully I don't get too knackered during it, though! 07:38Expected England SquadBy Harry BamforthGOALKEEPERS: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, James Trafford DEFENCE: Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Marc Guehi, Dan Burn, Jarell Quansah, Tino Livramento, Nico O’Reilly, Djed Spence, Reece James MIDFIELD: Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Jordan Henderson, Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham, Eberechi Eze FORWARDS: Harry Kane , Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Gordon 07:34Want to see the squad? By Harry BamforthWell, both Craig and I have spoken about the leaked England squad that has caused quite the stir.
Now, do you want to see it? I'm sure many of you have already seen the series of posts from Craig, who was working hard through the night to get all the biggest news out to you. But if you haven't, then well, you are in for a bit of a surprise. 07:32'At least we have Harry Kane'By Harry BamforthCraig Hope at Wembley: Good morning all from Wembley!
Well, I'm here for the big squad reveal... which was all revealed last night! The Daily Mail carried overnight what we're pretty sure is the 26-man group, and there are certainly a few surprises, as much by who has been left out, as opposed to in. We'll pick through it during the course of the morning, but I suppose the one big question you have to answer looking at the squad is... can it win a World Cup? Honestly?
I don't think so. It's the defence that has always worried me and, up against the very best opposition, I don't see enough wit and experience in the backline to keep out the likes of Raphinha, Yamal, Mbappe, Olise etc. But hey, at least we have Harry Kane! 07:30Who's on the plane? By Harry BamforthI don't think any of us have a clue, do we?
I mean, it's not like pretty much the whole England 2026 World Cup squad has been leaked, or anything like that. No, it's all been fairly quiet on the selection front, as far as I've seen. It's going to be a complete surprise when Thomas Tuchel announces his 26-man squad for North America... Obviously, I'm joking.
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 24 hours, news of who Tuchel has included in his Three Lions cohort, and who has been omitted, has slowly leaked out. And it's fair to say the England fans have not taken to the news of who is allegedly going and who isn't. The squad will be officially announced during a live stream starting at 9.45am, but I'm pretty sure there will be no new surprises.
It's going to be an interesting day, to say the least. Key UpdatesTOP STORIES
